Ruth qualified as a Clinical Psychologist in 2004, and currently works within NHS Inpatient Mental Health services for Older Adults as a service lead. Ruth has extensive experience working with complex mental health difficulties and Dementia, and provides individual therapeutic packages for clients, in addition to assessment and consultation to health professionals and carers. She offers a range of therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive-analytic Therapy (CAT), Systemic and Behavioural elements. Ruth qualified as a practitioner in Cognitive Analytic Therapy in 2021 and has an interest in applying this model when working with trauma.

Alongside her NHS role, Ruth has additional experience working with charities, and provides clinical supervision to Specialist Dementia Admiral Nurses. Ruth frequently delivers training packages to other health professionals and regularly teaches on the University of Manchester's Clinical Psychology Doctorate Course, as well as offering core and specialist clinical placements for trainee Clinical Psychologists.

Ruth is regulated by The Health and Care Professions Council (PYL20598). She is also a chartered member of the British Psychological Society and member of the Division of Clinical Psychology, and registered with the Association for Cognitive Analytic Therapy (ACAT).

Ruth has delivered training throughout her NHS career, with a primary focus on mental health and Dementia. She also has experience developing and facilitating training to staff groups around psychological wellbeing and trauma.

Louise is currently Director of Clinical Excellence and oversees safeguarding for a leading tech health company offering psychological services to individuals, private medical insurance providers, workplaces and the NHS. She is a highly skilled clinical psychologist, clinical supervisor, trained trainer and business consultant. She has worked for Adult Mental Health and Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services in the NHS; Children’s Social Services (Looked After Children); the independent and charitable sector as well as doctoral level teaching and clinical practice training.
Louise is a compassionate, respectful, patient, attentive, understanding and containing therapist with a genuine wish to reduce distress and enable individuals to thrive. She is able to develop positive working relationships and is skilled at making people feel comfortable. She understands how daunting therapy can be; she will provide comforting and sensitive psychological care and a safe therapeutic space.

Louise has gained extensive experience in her 20 years career which has equipped her with the confidence and competence to help individuals thrive. Louise has successfully supported individuals of all ages from childhood through to adulthood and across the full spectrum of psychological need e.g., Anxiety; Depression; Trauma; behaviour that challenges; grief, loss and bereavement; relationships, parenting, self esteem, adjustment, psychosomatic, sleep and toileting difficulties. She has specialised in parenting and trauma.
She is able to offer high quality clinically proven psychological therapies such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR).
Louise’s practice is informed by many well established and respected psychological theories such as attachment, developmental, systemic, cognitive, behavioural, social learning, parenting and trauma. She draws on such knowledge to develop meaningful explanations for difficulties that inform which clinically proven psychological treatment best suits an individuals’ needs and wishes. Equipped with helpful psychological knowledge Louise will encourage and support you to develop useful psychological strategies to reduce distress and cope.
Louise’s evidence-based approach is one that encompasses the holistic needs of the whole family and professional teams around the child/adult to best understand and support individual need. She is skilled at adapting her practice to individual needs.
Louise is a trustworthy professional and receives regular required clinical supervision of her work. She is regulated by The Health and Care Professions Council. She is also a chartered member of the British Psychological Society and member of the Division of Clinical Psychology and Association for Clinical Psychology.

Louise has and continues to clinically supervise many multidisciplinary professionals in the public and independent sector.

Louise is a trained trainer having worked for The University of Manchester's Clinical Psychology Doctorate Training Programme where she was a Clinical Tutor and Senior Fellow of The Higher Education Academy. She was responsible for child, adolescent and family teaching, clinical training placements and NHS supervisor training. She continues to teach on the University of Manchester's Clinical Psychology Doctorate Training Course. ​Louise has extensive and specialist skills at designing, delivering, evaluating and improving programmes of learning for multidisciplinary professions in health, social care and education in both the public and independent sectors. She delivers high rated training in person and online.

​Louise has completed the highest level of specialist safeguarding training (Level 5) and offers safeguarding supervision/consultations to many psychological therapists.

Louise is a successful subject matter expert and consultant in Psychology, mental health, clinical excellence, safeguarding and tech health. Her consultancy portfolio includes developing a new Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service for a leading tech health provider of independent psychological therapies, which she then went on to build and successfully deliver. She is skilled at organising multiple streams of work/teams to successfully deliver on viable mental health products or pathways of clinical care. ​Louise has helped Stormbreak develop a psychologically robust model of practice and has also designed specialist modules for a leading PHSE company (One Decision).
